Welcome to a new week!
I’m going to keep this post really short. Why? Because I realized this week that I need to slow things down. Get grounded again.
It’s amazing how quickly things can spin out of control. Next thing you know, it’s March! And, you don’t know what happened with the first two months of the year.
I figure if I am feeling this way - maybe you are, too. After all, we are all connected.

MINDFUL MARCH
Spring is just around the corner. I can feel it. The sun is setting later. The early mornings are getting a bit warmer. Next week, we will move our clocks forward.
Spring is on its way.
I usually love this time of year, but instead, I feel grumpy. Usually, that’s a sign that I’m feeling rushed. Out of sync. Overwhelmed.
Hey, it happens!
It’s not easy to stay grounded these days. But, it IS easy to get caught up in the chaos around us. TOO easy.
Just because we live in an ‘always on’ 24/7 kind of world, doesn’t mean we have to be always on. We get to choose.
We can step back. Take a break. Unplug. Regroup. Refocus. Reset.
So, that’s what I’m doing this week. Want to join me?
SPRING CLEANING
I started March with a little digital spring cleaning. If you can swing a full digital detox, that could be amazing, too. I can’t really do that since my work lives online, but I CAN be less mindless and more mindful about how information reaches me.
I looked at all of my information inputs - push notifications from group chats, social media, emails, etc. I turned them ALL off except the most critical.
I reorganized the apps on my phone so my home screen is just the basics.
I updated the queue in my reading, podcast and music apps with stuff I am excited to dive into.
I updated my unroll.me app to clear out my email inbox. (If you struggle to manage your inbox, I highly recommend that app.)
And guess what? It got quiet.
I can’t tell you how much better I feel already!
I feel like I can breathe deeper. Hear my own voice. Feel my own feelings. Be more present.
We don’t realize how chaotic and disruptive all of that stuff is until we turn it off.
Nothing is gone. It’s just creating some space around it so I can decide when to give it my attention - instead of it deciding for me.
It’s just one small step, but it’s an intentional, determined step toward a more mindful March. And, isn’t that what a ‘march’ is?
YOUR MISSION:
This week, I challenge you to do a little digital spring cleaning. Prune back some of the chaos and noise. Give yourself some extra space so you can enjoy a more mindful March.
IN SUMMARY:
Let’s enjoy March mindfully. Let’s set ourselves up to savor spring. Sip it slowly. Appreciate it for what it is and all it has to offer, not curse it because it’s coming too fast.
You ready?
See you next week?

Thanks, Karen. I definitely need to do this. Your suggestions are great, and I’m going to put a few in place!
Wow! Did I need this message! I really need to clean up my apps and set up some healthy ‘guardrails’. And with a friendly reminder to myself: If it is to be….it is up to me. Thanks for the LIFT!
