Welcome to a new week!
Hello friend! So glad you’re here and to be here with you! Last post, I shared some thoughts on healing. Guess the Universe had a few more lessons for me to hone in on around that topic this week. So - let’s dive in!

BODY WISDOM
Last weekend, I caught a nasty cold that really kicked my butt. That doesn’t happen very often for me, but when it does - there is always a great lesson to learn.
When I feel something coming on, I kick into high gear with extra immune-boosting strategies to fight it off. Extra water. Supplements. Rest.
My goal is to always catch it before it catches me. And, I’m usually successful with that strategy, but not always.
At some point last week, it became clear I was down for the count. I had to accept that I wasn’t going to get everything done. I was going to have to drop the ball on my promises. Slow down. Let go. And, let my body work its magic.
Healing is not something we actively do. It’s something we accept.
Our bodies are so amazing. You cut your finger, your body starts the healing process instantly. You get sick, your body goes to work to chase down the ‘bad bugs’ automatically.
We don’t have to do anything to heal - except to stop the nonsense that blocks it and surrender.
Of course, I realize there are times when medical intervention is required. Accidents, emergencies, serious illness, infections, etc. I’m just speaking about the natural healing processes that our bodies execute for us every day and during recovery after medical interventions.
The way our bodies heal themselves…it’s amazing when you stop to think about it. Miraculous even.
The whole ‘healing’ thing is what’s so mind-blowing about nature. It’s in a perpetual state of renewal and rebuilding. There is so much beauty in that process. And, as much as we like to think nature is somehow separate from us, it’s nice to be reminded that we are one and the same.
The same life force that keeps our planet spinning is flowing through our veins.
LIFE WISDOM
Healing never comes from fighting. It always comes from surrender. It’s when you slow down, accept the reality and allow the space for it - however slow it might be. (I don’t care whether we’re talking about the common cold, a physical wound or an emotional one.)
Sometimes we think we can fix it ourselves by doing the ‘right’ things. But, more often than not, it’s not in the doing that we fix it. It’s in the ‘not doing’. The acceptance. The receiving.
Did you ever play that game ‘trust fall’ as a kid? It’s when you stand in front of someone and fall backward and they catch you as you fall? It’s all about trust. And, as much as you know they are going to catch you, there’s still a moment on the way down where you feel that resistance - that ‘what if’.
Yeah, I guess I was reminded of that this week.
There are so many ways we try to intercept and orchestrate how things happen, but sometimes we need to be reminded to just trust the process. Let go and allow the magic of nature to do its thing.
The very same energy that we use to hold onto something is what propels us forward when we let go.
SIDE NOTE: For those of you going through this whole menopause transition with me, there’s a lot of wisdom in all of this for us at this stage. We do all of the things to ‘avoid’, ‘postpone’ and 'master’ our symptoms or the effects of this change in our lives, but I think what we are really supposed to be doing is accepting and adjusting and making space for the beauty that is evolving through it and through us.
What if instead of holding on, we just LET GO?
YOUR MISSION:
This week, I challenge you to notice the natural healing process in nature - whether in something or someone around you or right there inside yourself. Where can you allow a little trust fall? Where can you surrender?
IN SUMMARY:
I don’t know about you, but I am looking forward to a fresh new week. A clear head. An open heart. A re-booted immune system. And, a deep sense of gratitude that I am not responsible for all of the healing in my body or in the world - I’m just here to hold space for it and witness its beauty as it unfolds.
See you next week?
