After reading this I spent time in deep water. I swam, allowed myself to sink to the bottom, and practiced my strokes and breathing.

This week I'm taking off on a solo road trip across the country. Traveling solo is a skill. I haven't done this in two years. It was time to exercise that muscle. Use it or lose it. I've been nervous for two weeks thinking, planning, and packing. While I'm on the road if I start freaking out I'll stay a couple days in a spot I feel safe and recharge. The end result will be wilderness hiking... that requires a completely different prep, but again the skill must be exercised... it's been since 2019, and of course physically I've drastically changed due to aging. Doesn't matter. Sometimes I have to walk through the fear to regain courage from being complacent in my everyday comfortable routine. Good luck on your move and new job!! I'm excited for you and hope both turn out to be the best ever for you!

What an exciting time for you two! Can't wait to hear what good things came out of the in between time/uncertainty.

My husband and I recently went through something very similar, and like you, I kept thinking that I couldn't wait to be on the other side of it all.

I have some good news! There were some nice surprised in store for us, so I'm sure there will be some in store for you and TK as well.

Thanks for the amazing, read!

I always walk away from The Lift feeling motivated and inspired.
